About us

I'm Dutch (moved to the United States at age 16), have traveled extensively, and enjoy cool, laid-back, and respectful house guests. Over the past 15 years, most of my house guests have been international observers, post-grads, researchers, and fellows in the medical industry at University Hospitals and Cleveland Clinic.

 

My home is in a SAFE urban area in the retail district of Larchmere near Shaker Heights and Shaker Square. It is a fun, historic neighborhood where the streets are lined with antique stores and lots of small restaurants. This neighborhood is rare for the United States because you can walk safely to all the places you want to for your social time and shopping.  The grocery store is just a short 10-minute walk away, and the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospital UH, Case CWRU, University Circle are a 20 to 30-minute walk. I have several bicycles available for your use. Public transportation is also nearby. 15 minutes by bus to Clinic and CASE, 10 minutes by bicycle, and 3 minutes by car.

Guests are welcome to use the whole house. Even though the rooms are beautifully decorated, I do not expect guests to stay in their room...please enjoy the home, spacious private courtyard and roof deck!           See you soon,   Avon
